A++ Collaborative Research Network
The CRN (Collaborative Research Network) is an initiative that supplies researchers and educators across the state with access to a range of resources and support for conducting computational research and incorporating it into STEM teaching and learning. These resources include access to research data and applications, as well as computational tools. The CRN also offers opportunities for connecting with other faculty and researchers in Arizona through seminars and convenings, as well as workshops on how to use these resources and incorporate undergraduate research into STEM education.

Monsoon Advanced Research Computing Accordion Closed
Advanced Research Computing (ARC) at NAU facilitates access and support of High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources and associated technologies supporting computationally demanding or transformational research at NAU. Some of these resources and technologies include support for “big-data” issues, data science consulting, secure computing (CUI, HIPAA, ITAR), and large data storage.
Globus Accordion Closed
Globus, a data transfer tool created at the University of Chicago aims to simplify the transfer of research data across different platforms and geographic regions. It allows for encrypted, verified and transparent data transfers between researchers, independent of the platform and file system they are running. To the end-user, the system is designed to be as simple, non-technical and streamlined as possible. At Northern Arizona University, we encourage the use of Globus for transferring data sets, software and related information to and from our Monsoon cluster.
Rstudio Accordion Closed
Rstudio is a development environment for the programming language, R. Rstudio is available to members of the A++ CRN.
MATLAB Accordion Closed
MATLAB is a programming language and environment accessible to all A++ CRN members.
Jupyter Notebooks Accordion Closed
Jupyter Notebooks are a server-client application that allows running and compiling code in a web browser. Jupyter Notebooks are available alongside Monsoon ARC.
Web Data Sharing Portal Accordion Closed
Researchers utilizing monsoon’s compute power now have the ability to share project data with colleagues via a web browser. Any individual files or directories can be shared. No file is too large, or too small.
EDUROAM Network Access Accordion Closed
EduRoam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. EduRoam allows students, researchers, and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptops.
