Get Ready for Canvas!
Beginning in the Summer session of 2023, All NAU courses will be delivered through Canvas. Relevant links, trainings, and other resources will be embedded into this site for access from the NAU community.

Canvas is NAU’s new online Learning Management System, the destination for all NAU courses and resources.
The Passport to Canvas course guides new users on all the basics of Canvas, and how to find all the resources and items that were familiar in BlackBoard Learn, now in Canvas.

Why is NAU Switching to Canvas? Accordion Closed
After 10+ years of utilizing BlackBoard Learn on campus, NAU aims to upgrade the campus’ Learning Management System, or LMS. After an extensive open forum and selection process in 2021, a unanimous recommendation for Canvas was garnered from the NAU community and key stakeholders from the options of D2L Brightspace, Canvas, and Blackboard’s Ultra Course View.
Currently, NAU is working to implement and translate all the previous systems and infrastructure of BBLearn into the Canvas environment, alongside the new functionality available with Canvas. In doing so, NAU hopes to provide a seamless transition to Canvas, with new and improved learning modalities and interaction.
How do I Access Canvas? Accordion Closed
For desktop users, you can access Canvas by visiting the NAU Canvas page.
For mobile users, Canvas can be accessed via the NAUgo app.
Note: For NAU students looking to access Canvas via mobile, utilize the NAUgo app, rather than downloading the flagship Canvas application.
Will Canvas have all the same features I used with BBLearn? Accordion Closed
Yes, NAU is currently working on building out all the same functions and features that BlackBoard provided, in the Canvas environment. Items such as course calendars, messaging, course views, and much more will be available in Canvas, alongside new features.
