Introducing Technology Review Requests
We’re rolling out a new, simpler process for purchasing software and specialized hardware for university work and instruction.
Beginning today, we’re rolling out an improved process for buying software and specialized hardware at the university. In partnership with Accessibility, we’ve created Technology Review Requests.
What this means
Technology Review Requests support the university’s procurement process as a simplified form located in ServiceNow.
Previously, users would need to submit an ITS Checklist in OnBase alongside a University Purchase Request. Moving forward, users will use the new Technology Review Request form instead of the ITS Checklist. Additionally, the legacy ITS Checklist previously housed in OnBase will be retired and will no longer accept submissions.
The Technology Review Request form walks through all the information gathering steps required in order to purchase technology, such as pricing, data levels and protections, implementations, accessibility, support, and more.

Who should submit a Technology Review Request? Accordion Closed
We recommend that the individual most knowledgeable about the technology being requested and its intended usage submit the request.
Do I still need to submit a Purchase Request? Accordion Closed
Yes. For any item needing to be procured, a Purchase Request must also be submitted alongside a Technology Review Request.
How do I know what software has already been approved for university use? Accordion Closed
You can find enterprise-licensed and pre-approved software on our Service Catalog. If you have any questions about licensing for a particular software, reach out to us at Software@nau.edu.
What kinds of specialized hardware does this cover? Accordion Closed
The Technology Review Request form covers non-endpoint computing devices, such as servers, switches, and other specialized equipment that rely on IT infrastructure and resources. Users looking to purchase NAU workstations and other endpoint devices can refer to the ITS Computer Purchasing Program.
