Affiliation Category Descriptions
Collaborative Campus Associate Accordion Closed
This affiliation category includes community or fraternal types of organizations hosted on the NAU mountain campus or another NAU location such as NAU Yuma or other statewide offices. These affiliated organizations tend to have a closer working relationship with NAU and typically require more extensive IT services. Examples include (but are not limited to) US Forest Service members, researchers, visiting scholars, auditors, consultants, and certain contracted employees.
Collaborative Student Accordion Closed
Members of this affiliation category require access that an NAU student might receive. This affiliation category facilitates collaborative academic work with students who are not formally enrolled at NAU traditionally because they are a member of an outside academic program taking place on the NAU campus or remotely. Examples include (but are not limited to) Cline Library affiliates, the IHD SELECT program, the Park Ranger program, and the Upward Bound program.
Adjunct Accordion Closed
The Adjunct affiliation category is comprised of professors that are generally recognized by the Department Chair and may or may not have an associated salary. Adjunct status requires approval by the Provost’s office. This affiliation category is assigned by department to facilitate administration and assignment of sponsors.
Emeritus Accordion Closed
The Emeritus affiliation category is reserved for faculty who have served as an NAU faculty member for at least ten years and are recommended by the Provost to the President. Additional details about Emeritus status can be found on the Office of the Provost website.
Retiree Accordion Closed
The Retiree affiliation category is reserved for faculty or staff who have officially retired from NAU and requested that their access be maintained during retirement. Retiree status is vetted and approved through NAU Human Resources.
Collaborative Associate Accordion Closed
This affiliation category includes organizations located outside of any NAU campus or those that do not require many NAU IT services. These organizations have established a partnership with NAU, but their home organizations provide the majority of IT services that they require. Examples include (but are not limited to) the Flagstaff Arboretum, the Museum of Northern Arizona, various consultants, and approved vendors.
Credentialed Associate Accordion Closed
This affiliation category consists of affiliates who are entered into NAU computer systems for identification management purposes only. While their identification on computing systems is necessary to facilitate other types of services from various campus departments, no additional computing services are necessary. Examples include vendors, certain alumni, persons receiving NAU ID cards for service purposes other than computing, and members of the general public who have a membership to the Recreation Center.
