LOUIE Upgrade – Glossary Terms
Fit-Gap: A process used to evaluate the difference between our current system and the new system functionality. We determine where the new functionality “fits” our existing processes and where there are “gaps” that may need new solutions or new processes identified.
LOUIE: NAU’s student information system that supports core activities such as enrolling in classes, paying tuition and fees, grading, advising, etc.
Security Patch: A fix to our system that removes a vulnerability that could be exploited by hackers.
Self-Service: An area of LOUIE that allows end-users to access several core activities for management of their account (paying bills, enrolling in classes, etc.).
Student Center: The Student Center within LOUIE provides a single point of entry for student self-service activities.
Upgrade: Replacing our current product, PeopleSoft Campus Solution 9.0 (aka LOUIE) with the latest 9.2 version of the application to take advantage of application improvements, ongoing support, etc.
