The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities works with various offices and resources to maintain a safe and secure campus. The following safety and support resources may be useful to students in need of assistance.

The Title IX Coordinator can assist students who have experienced gender violence (including sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, relationship violence, or stalking) in accessing university resources, obtaining assistance, and understanding the various processes for filing complaints with either the police or the university.

Medical Services provides medical exams that will help identify and treat trauma, and tests for STDs and pregnancy. Mental health services are also available. This resource is limited to currently enrolled students and employees of Northern Arizona University.

Counseling Services offers confidential individual, group, and couples counseling, which is available to all enrolled Northern Arizona University students.

Victim Witness Services for Coconino County provides free 24-hour crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims in a confidential setting. Advocates can accompany a victim through a medical exam and offer counseling and information about the legal process. They also provide forms for financial assistance with medical and other expenses.

If a patient arrives at Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) with no injury or complaint of pain, they will be medically screened and referred to the Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (NACASA) for medical/forensic care. If injury or complaint of pain is present after a sexual assault, FMC will provide a medical/forensic exam, treatment of physical trauma, and pregnancy and STD prophylaxis.

NACASA provides medical and forensic exams in a calm, quiet setting for victims, as well as emergency contraception and medication to prevent STIs and HIV. NACASA services are free and anonymous. They promote a multi-disciplinary team approach to intervention, which includes access to:
- medical professionals
- law enforcement
- prosecutors
- social service providers
- victim advocates
A medical/forensic exam may be completed whether or not a police report is filed. An advocate will be provided to any victim regardless of their decision to report. Please contact Victim Witness Services to speak with an advocate.
Campus Living

Campus Living provides crisis intervention through on-call Community Assistants or Community Coordinators. Primary services include:

- referral
- follow-up
Housing re-assignments may be coordinated for students who live in Campus Living communities.

NAUPD provides law enforcement services to the campus community, including investigating criminal activity and assisting victims.
Campus safety reports
Northern Arizona University provides annual crime statistics as part of the requirements for the Clery Act. The Annual Clery Report is published annually by the Northern Arizona University Police Department. In addition, the university publishes an annual Fire Safety Report as part of the Higher Education Opportunity Act.

Employee Assistance and Wellness provides confidential counseling for all benefit-eligible Northern Arizona University faculty and staff and their family members covered under the Northern Arizona University health plan. Referral information and crisis intervention services are available to all Northern Arizona University employees.

The Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities practices an open-door, walk-in policy, ensuring staff will be available to students for consultation on a variety of matters, including disciplinary procedures. This office also collects anonymous reports of sexual assault and other gender violence.
