Leading at NAU
Striving to empower every Lumberjack to become leaders of positive change, NAU provides opportunities for each student to engage, connect, and develop their leadership identity. With programs such as EDGE Leadership, Presidential Leadership Fellows, the Student Leadership Conference, and more, we are committed to supporting each student thrive through their leadership journey.
Our approach utilizes the Kouzes & Posner model: 5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership. This model breaks down the complexities of leadership into 5 concepts.
- Model the Way
- Inspire a Shared Vision
- Challenge the Process
- Enable others to Act
- Encourage the Heart
By diving into these, we empower every Lumberjack to identify as a leader, and work toward building a brighter future.
