The Louie Awards are back!
The Louie Awards were historically established to recognize “unsung heroes” on campus who exemplify the True Blue spirit. The awards continue to appreciate exceptional students, faculty, and staff within the NAU community.
Type of awards
Student Award
This award recognizes a student who embodies the true spirit of a Lumberjack—demonstrating a passion for academic excellence, personal growth, and a deep sense of community involvement. This individual goes above and beyond in fostering inclusivity, school pride, and campus engagement. Whether through leadership in student organizations, dedicated service to others, or inspiring their peers through resilience and determination, the recipient exemplifies the values of perseverance, integrity, and spirit that define Northern Arizona University.
Staff Award
This award honors a staff member who exemplifies dedication to the university’s mission and fosters an environment where students and colleagues alike thrive. This individual consistently goes the extra mile in supporting the university community, showing exceptional leadership, empathy, and commitment. Through their daily work, they contribute to creating a supportive, inspiring, and inclusive campus that embodies the heart of NAU. Their actions reflect the pride and spirit that make Northern Arizona University a special place to learn and grow.
Faculty Award
This award recognizes a faculty member who champions the values of academic excellence, mentorship, and service within the university community. The recipient demonstrates a passion for teaching, engaging students beyond the classroom, and inspiring future leaders. Through their dedication to fostering a respectful, innovative, and supportive learning environment, they promote the Lumberjack spirit of exploration, empowerment, and growth.
