Eligibility and cost
Who is eligible
Any NAU student, regardless of campus location, who is enrolled for one or more credit hours, was enrolled the previous semester, and/or is enrolled for the upcoming semester, is eligible for services. Students who have paid the Health and Recreation Fee for the current semester will be eligible for services at a reduced rate. If you have not paid the Health and Recreation fee, you will be charged the standard rate for services. ASU and U of A students are eligible for emergency in person services at NAU campus health Services.
Counseling Services does not bill Medical Insurance.

In accordance with the Governor of Arizona Executive order on 5/5/2021 and Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan, telemedicine visits are now subject to the same copay rates as in-person visits.
- Brief assessment: $15
- Individual counseling: $15
- Couples counseling: $15 per session, per person (Non-student partners will be charged $40 per session)
- Group counseling: $5
- Triage: $10 per session
- Consult (in-person): $10 per session
Clients with the LOUIE Care will be charged the following:
- Brief Assessment: $10
- Individual counseling: $10
- Couples counseling: $10 per session, per person (Non-student partners will be charged $40 per session)
- Group counseling: $5
- Triage: $10 per session
- Consult (in-person): $10 per session
Cancellation
Counseling Services will charge $25 ($10 for missed Group, Triage, or Consult Visits) to your student account for appointments that you:
- are more than 10 minutes late for
- do not attend without canceling more than two hours in advance
These charges will appear on your account as Campus Health Services. Northern Arizona University reserves the right to turn this bill over to a collection agency. To avoid this charge, please cancel your appointment at least two hours in advance by calling the Counseling Services front desk at 928-523-2261 during business hours. If your appointment is in the first two hours of the morning you will not be charged if you call within the first 15 minutes the center is open.
