Introducing our new Health and Recreation Access Fee
This new Health and Recreation Access fee will give you access to all Campus Health Services (including Campus Recreation, Medical, and Counseling Services). This fee is available to Flagstaff Mountain Students who are not enrolled in Summer, 2NAU students, and non-Flagstaff Mountain Students. By paying $206, students will have access to all these services for the entire Summer.
Flagstaff Mountain Students who are enrolled in the summer get access to these services without having to pay an extra fee due to paying the Health and Wellness Tuition fee. Regardless of the summer session a student is enrolled in, they will get access to services for the entire summer.

Do I have to pay the entire access fee to gain access to services? Accordion Closed
Yes, to access services, you must pay the full access fee to be eligible to utilize the services.
How long will it take after I pay the access fee to gain access to services? Accordion Closed
The system feeds the services utilize will update the day after your payment. However, if you have a receipt for full payment, you can show it to staff at the location, and they can provide access to the requested service.
I have been charged the mandatory tuition fee. Do I have to pay the access fee to utilize services? Accordion Closed
No, because we were charged the mandatory fee, you will not have to pay the access fee to utilize services.
What does the Health and Recreation access fee cover? Will it pay for all the additional charges that I may incur at Campus Health? Accordion Closed
The access fee covers access to Campus Health and Campus Recreation Services. The fee DOES NOT cover: CHS Service Costs – When you visit a healthcare provider at CHS, there will be additional costs for specific services such as medical consultations, treatments, lab tests, or counseling. These costs are not included in the access fee and need to be paid separately.
Should I be concerned about Measles? Accordion Closed
Measles is making a resurgence in the United States. To date, more than 35 states have reported Measles cases, including Arizona. Measles is an extremely contagious, viral infection that is spread by coughing, sneezing, and breathing the same air as a person infected with this illness, according to the NIH one case of Measles can spread at rate 5-7 times faster than Covid and 9 times faster than influenza to susceptible individuals, with adults more likely to develop severe disease or complications; however, it can also be prevented through vaccinations. NAU has a policy regarding measles, mumps and rubella immunity due to the severity of these diseases. NAU is taking active counter measures to keep the campus Measles free, your attention to the information below is vital.
What are the signs and symptoms of Measles? Accordion Closed
People exposed to the measles virus may not develop signs and symptoms of the infection until 7 to 14 days after exposure. Symptoms include high fever, cough, runny nose, white spots in your mouth, red or pink watery eyes, or a blotchy facial rash that spreads downward. A person who is infected with Measles can infect other people starting 4 days before they develop a rash and remain contagious 4 days after the rash started. Please seek medical attention if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.
What if there is a Measles outbreak at NAU? Accordion Closed
Northern Arizona University has the authority to develop and enforce policies specific to unvaccinated students in the event of a measles outbreak associated with NAU. Rules and policies may include (and are not limited to):
- Isolation of unvaccinated students infected with or exposed to the Measles virus
- Exclusion of unvaccinated students from educational and social activities on NAU campus
- Removal of unvaccinated students from on-campus residence
- Revocation of unvaccinated students’ access to campus facilities
Make sure you are up to date on your MMR vaccine to ensure there are no disruptions to your educational experience at NAU.
What should I do if I have been exposed to someone with Measles? Accordion Closed
If unvaccinated, isolate at home and monitor symptoms for 21 days after exposure; contact Campus Health Services or your medical provider for information on post-exposure prophylaxis options. Vaccinated students who are exposed should monitor for symptoms for 21 days. Anyone who develops symptoms should see a healthcare provider immediately.
