  • Emergencies: NAU Police Department
    • Call 911
    • For situations requiring immediate intervention: Call NAUPD first. This includes actions and/or statements expressing an intent to harm self or others.
    • If there are general concerns about somebody’s welfare but there is no specific information about suicidal ideation, NAUPD also conducts welfare checks. Those can be requested through the non-emergency 928-523-3611 line.
  • Counseling Services: 928-523-2261
    • Located in Health and Learning Center within Campus Health Services
    • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • Services include: individual counseling & psychotherapy; consultation to parents, faculty, staff & students; referrals to private & public mental health services; group therapy; 24- hour emergency crisis intervention; outreach/training to NAU community, and, psychiatric intervention & referrals.

    • Located in Health and Learning Center within Campus Health Services
    • Hours: Monday- Friday, 8a.m. -5 p.m.; Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Saturdays and Sundays.
    • Medical Services is a full-service, professional medical facility. We offer a full spectrum of health care services on site, including primary care and psychiatric medication evaluations.

    • Located in Health and Learning Center
    • Health Promotion offers a variety of educational services including outreach presentations, educational workshops, and wellness events for students on many health topics, including mental health screenings, the Collegiate Recovery Program, and stress-reduction events.
  • Practicum Lab Counseling: 928-523-7135 or email
    • Located in Eastburn Education building
    • Hours: Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m, Friday 8 a.m. – 5p.m.
    • Master and Doctorate Level Counseling students in the department of Educational Psychology training programs provide free individual, personal counseling to NAU students and community members under the supervision of licensed counseling faculty.
    • Sessions can be conducted in person or via zoom
