Health Promotion

All new undergraduate students are required to complete the following Health and Safety Courses during their first semester. This includes only Flagstaff Mountain Campus students.

Failure to complete these courses from August 1 to October 15 (Fall semester) or January 1 to March 15 (Spring semester) will result in a $50 program fine.

 

3rd Millennium Alcohol Wise + Hazing Prevention

An email with instructions for completing the required courses will be sent to your NAU email account. Make sure to complete both the Alcohol Education and Hazing Prevention courses by clicking the button below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to complete these courses? Accordion Closed

The content in these educational courses is designed to help create a healthy and safe physical learning environment for all NAU students. The Alcohol Wise course will provide you with information that is important for you to know about alcohol and other drugs, whether or not you engage in substance use. The Hazing Prevention Course provides education to all new students on what hazing is and how to intervene if they witness hazing. 

How do I access the Health and Safety courses? Accordion Closed

After the welcome e-mail is sent, your courses will load. Scroll up to the yellow button on this webpage, click on “Complete the Course” to be redirected to the 3rd Millennium Classrooms page (NAU log-in) or you can use the link sent to your NAU email. 

What is the due date? Accordion Closed

The due dates are:

  • Fall semester, October 15
  • Spring semester, March 15

Complete both courses before these deadlines to avoid the $50 fine.  

What do I do if I have technical issues? Accordion Closed

When can I start the course? Accordion Closed

An invitation will be emailed to your NAU email address once you are enrolled in your first semester at NAU.  Please use that link to log in and complete your course(s).  Be sure to complete the course before the deadline to avoid the $50 fine. 

How long does it take to complete the courses? Accordion Closed

Approximately 2 hours total to complete both courses. You do not have to complete both courses in one sitting. Your progress will be saved as you go if you want to complete them over the course of a few days or whatever pace works for you. 

Do students need to send proof of completion somewhere? Accordion Closed

No, but it doesn’t hurt to save a copy for your records in case of an erroneous charge.

I received a fee for not completing the course, but I no longer go to NAU. What should I do? Accordion Closed
