Build Your Quaranteam
COVID-19 Student Health and Safety
Here’s a strategy for keeping you and your friends safer. While staying at home and limiting in person interactions is the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there are ways to reduce your risk if you choose to socialize in person. Remember: all in-person interactions carry some level of risk.
What’s a “Quaranteam?”
Establish your “quaranteam” of a few close contacts that all agree to be part of the same COVID social bubble.
- Safer teams include only the people who live in your household. The smaller the team, the lower the risk.
- Establish shared and agreed upon expectations regarding limiting close contact with others outside your group.
- Talk with your team about boundaries both on the team and “off” the team: What are you comfortable with? What are they comfortable with? Be ready to negotiate.
- Limit exposure to people outside your “team.”
- Discuss ways to reduce risk for your team social outings. In general, outdoor activities are lower risk than indoor activities. Capitalize on the amazing summer weather and abundant outdoor recreation opportunities in Flagstaff!
- Your COVID bubble might be bigger than you think-consider keeping your bubble small.
