How is my appointment assigned?
- Academic Level is calculated including credits that are completed with a passing grade, which is reflected in LOUIE, to include both credits completed at NAU or transferred from another institution.
- Appointments are assigned based on you academic level and student status at the time of assignment.
- Please view your enrollment appointment in LOUIE.
- New students should complete the Priority Enrollment process with University Advising to get their class schedule for the first term
What is a waitlist?
If a class is full, students may request to be placed on a wait list and will be automatically enrolled when a spot becomes available.
Wait lists allow degree seeking students to place themselves on a list if a section’s enrollment capacity is already full. When seats become available the process will automatically enroll students from the wait list into that closed class section.
How many credits can a student take?
Limits are set on how many credits a student can take a semester to keep them within a manageable workload. If a student wants to take more credits than what is allowed they must complete a Unit Load Override which can be completed in your LOUIE account by following the steps below.
Once you are in your LOUIE account click the Tab titled “Registrar’s Office Forms”
- Then click the drop down “Student Forms”
- Then click “Add Unit Load Override”
- You will then select your academic career and term you wish to add and click “Search”
Additional Enrollment Services
Reverse transfer refers to a situation in which students have transferred to Northern Arizona University from a two-year institution without earning an associate’s degree. Credits earned from enrollment at Northern Arizona University are transferred back to the two-year institution for evaluation and, if applicable, will be used for an associate degree conferral prior to the student earning a four-year degree.
In order to resume your degree completion after a pause of three semesters or more a reinstatement appeal is required. A reinstatement appeal is your way of informing the university that you are ready to resume your studies and are ready to enroll.
