These college and career handbooks provide information and activities for high school seniors as they decide their next steps and launch their postsecondary goals. These resources cover topics including career exploration, financial aid, types of colleges, college fit, and preparing for the workforce and the military. Join this session as we review the content, development, and impact of these resources that now reach over 40,000 students in these two states each year.

Things We Wish We Knew: A Top-Down Perspective Accordion Closed
Jasmine Dean – Arizona GEAR UP, Jennifer Murphy – ASU GEAR UP
In this facilitated dialogue, we will explore the not-so-pretty side of being a first/second year GEAR UP program. We will provide information on best practices for working with partners to build a foundation for continued success. In this workshop, you will become comfortable in what seems to be failure to help you to understand that we have all been there. We will take a lens to the ASU GEAR UP grant and provide support tools to display the hardships and success in the beginning stages of GEAR UP from the perspective of a GEAR UP Coordinator and Director. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences with other programs as well as pain points to support in the success and progress of future programs.
