Snow Information


Engineering

The Engineering team provides leadership and support to Facility Services and the campus in a number of areas of expertise. The NAU Building Official, or the duly appointed agent, provides code review of construction documents, issues building permits and performs required inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements, NAU Technical Standards and appropriate codes. The Engineering team provides engineering and technical support for projects and other units within Facility Services.


Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability engages NAU students, employees, and community members around sustainable initiatives to meet our mission and fulfill our vision.  The Office utilizes NAU’s Climate Action Plan to promote environmental stewardship in the areas of recycling and waste minimization, transportation, operations, procurement, water, energy and climate change, academics, and research.


Operations

Operations and Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of NAU campus facilities. We provide a variety of services on campus that establish a functional and safe campus environment that promotes learning, research, and daily operations, with an emphasis in prolonging the useful life of facilities.

What do we do?

  • Operate and maintain campus buildings, grounds, and manage campus snow removal operations.
  • Maintain the campus electrical, custodial, building access, plumbing, general maintenance, grounds, carpentry, and paint operations.
  • Train and support our skilled trades professionals, support staff, and student workers.

Planning, Design & Construction

Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) guides development of large projects on the NAU campus and statewide, including yearly project development, project bids, blueprints, renderings, management of construction and opening.


Utility Services

Utility Services is responsible for the purchase, production and distribution of water and energy on campus. This includes the generation of steam, high temperature hot water, and chilled water at two campus plants for space heating, water heating and cooling of buildings.
