Health Promotion
All new undergraduate students are required to complete the following courses during their first semester. This includes online, statewide, and Flagstaff campus students.
Failure to complete these courses within 30 days from when you receive the initial Vector email will result in a $50 program fine.

Vector AlcoholEdu + Sexual Violence Prevention
An email with instructions for completing the required courses will be sent to your NAU email account shortly after the beginning of the semester. Make sure to complete the course by submitting the post survey.

Why do I have to complete these courses? Accordion Closed
The content in these educational courses is designed to help create a healthy and safe physical and virtual learning environment for all NAU students. The AlcoholEdu course will provide you with information that is important for you to know about alcohol and other drugs, whether or not you engage in substance use. The Sexual Assault Prevention course helps NAU meet federal requirements of the Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act to provide prevention education to all NAU students about healthy relationships and sexual violence prevention.
How do I access the Vector courses? Accordion Closed
After the welcome e-mail is sent, your Vector courses will load. Scroll up to the yellow button on this webpage, click on “Complete the Course” to be redirected to the Vector login page or you can use the link sent to your NAU email.
What is the due date? Accordion Closed
The due date is 30 days from when you receive the first email from Vector to access the required courses. For the Spring 2026 semester, the due date is March 1, 2026. You will be able to see your due dates for each course when you log into the Vector training website.
What do I do if I have technical issues? Accordion Closed
For Computer Access
- Clear Browser Cache
- Clearing your browser’s cache can often resolve many issues. Please try this and then restart your browser.
- Update Your Browser
- Using the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox can improve performance. If updates are available, please install them.
- Safari Settings (Mac/iPhone)
- If you’re using Safari, please ensure that the ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ setting is turned off. This can sometimes affect functionality.
- Try a Different Browser
- Sometimes switching to a different browser can help. If you have browser extensions or pop-up blockers, they might be causing issues.
- Use Incognito Mode
- Opening an Incognito Mode window can help bypass potential interference from browser extensions or settings.
- Play Videos Manually
- Our videos are designed for accessibility and do not auto-play. Please click the play button on the video screen to complete the module.

When can I start the course? Accordion Closed
An invitation will be emailed to your NAU email address. Please use that link to log in and complete your course(s). Be sure to complete the course before the deadline to avoid the $50 fine.
How long does it take to complete the courses? Accordion Closed
Approximately 3 hours total to complete both courses. You do not have to complete both courses in one sitting. Your progress will be saved as you go if you want to complete them over the course of a few days or whatever pace works for you.
Do students need to send proof of completion somewhere? Accordion Closed
No, but it doesn’t hurt to save a copy for your records in case of an erroneous charge.
I received a fee for not completing the course but I no longer go to NAU. What should I do? Accordion Closed
