New & transfer student checklists

We have carefully crafted a specific checklist for each type of educational benefit, to include the GI Bill®, DOD Tuition Assistance, and Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E). Please carefully read through each step of your designated checklist to help guide your transition to NAU.

Your NAU Veteran Success Center (VSC)

  • The VSC is your one-stop-shop for transitioning to NAU, VA Benefits, on-campus and off-campus resources, academic resources, and more. The VSC also provides computers with free black and white printing, faxing, and a lounge for all military-connected students.

  • We are open 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday in the NAU Field House (Bldg 30), Room 138.

Ch. 31 Veteran Readiness & Employment Accordion Open

Veteran Readiness & Employment is a program for separated or retired service-members with a service-connected disability.

Veteran Readiness and Employment (Ch. 31 VR&E)

Ch. 33 Post 9/11 & Fry Scholarship Accordion Closed

Post 9/11 benefits can be used by veterans, and military-connected dependents & spouses. The Fry Scholarship is for the surviving spouses and children of a servicemember who died in the line of duty after Sept. 10th, 2001.

Ch.35 Dependents Educational Assistance Accordion Closed

Is a stipend program for the dependents & spouses of service-members with 100% permanent and total service-connected disability.

Ch. 1606 Guard & Reserves Accordion Closed

The Montgomery GI Bill (Selected Reserve) is a stipend program for National Guard & Reserve service-members in a participating unit.

DOD Tuition Assistance Accordion Closed

DODTA is a program for active-duty soldiers, sailors, airmen, & marines. NAU is proud to offer a tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for all DODTA eligible undergraduate and graduate students!
