Evidence and property
The department employs one Evidence and Property Technician. An invaluable part of our team, the Evidence Technician provides support to various functions within the Police Department. Primary duties include:
- Receiving, cataloging, storing, securing, and releasing evidence, found property, and items stored for safekeeping.
- Receiving, cataloging, issuing, and replacing department equipment and uniforms.
- Coordinating department vehicle maintenance and repair with NAU’s Fleet Services.
- Assisting police officers by performing security – and /or traffic-related duties (i.e., building checks, escorts, point control, etc.)
- Completing police reports on minor non-felony, non-arrest incidents
- Providing relief police dispatch as needed.
