Supporting your Students in their Writing

Do you have students that could use a little more help in their writing? Look no further! The Interdisciplinary Writing Program is excited to announce our new UWC Student Referral Program, where faculty, advisors, and peer mentors can recommend their students to receive extra help in their writing. Support is available for students of all academic levels, disciplines, and writing abilities.

How does it work?

After completing the UWC Student Referral form below, students will receive an email from our office offering them resources and information about where to access the University Writing Commons and receive one-on-one writing assistance with one of our excellent Writing Assistants.

Is the referral private?

Absolutely! The email that students receive will be very broad and non-specific. An example would be:

“Good morning,

You were referred to the University Writing Commons to receive support in your writing, and we are happy to help! The UWC provides support to students at all levels, in all disciplines, and at any stage in the writing process. Attached to this email are instructions on how to create a WCONLINE account, and get set up for free, one-on-one writing assistance with one of our excellent Writing Assistants.

For your convenience, we offer in-person appointments at multiple locations on the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus, as well as online options. If you have any questions about our program or how to access our resources please feel free to respond to this email or call us at 928-523-7745.”

UWC Student Referral

Details shared in this form are entirely confidential. A private email will be sent to the student with information on how to gain assistance in their work. Your name will not be mentioned.
