Our Spring 2024 Graduate Writing Assistants are a mixture of Master’s and Doctoral Candidates in the Department of English, as well as exceptional Undergraduate students from a variety of majors.

Chris H. Creative Writing MFA student ’25. I write creative nonfiction/fiction and excel at developing critical reading and writing skills with my students. I’m learning Spanish, and it is my goal to be fluent by the time I graduate. I believe everyone has the capacity to be a great writer and I love to witness the improvement of others.

Maksim K. Masters in Applied Linguistics and TESOL 2025. I got two degrees in the Russian Federation: a Master’s Degree in Linguistics with distinction; a Bachelor’s Degree in Philology, received an additional qualification of a translator 2008-2012.
My native language is Russian, but I’m fluent in English.
I’ve been an official PTE examiner since 2016, so I know how to help students cope with stress. I achieved an A grade (scoring 202 out of 210) in Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) exam and reached a Proficiency level in July 2019. I also passed TOEFL with flying colors in 2019 and received 102 points out of 120. I attained a score of 8.0 out of 9.0 in IELTS Academic exam.
I love helping students with writing for exams, I’m a vocabulary junkie and a grammar aficionado.

I would love to help those with writing difficulties related to language or any other aspects.
