Projects and Research in Progress
Check out what projects and research we currently have going on!
Identifying Impervious Surface Runoff Quality and the Roles of LID Basins in Filtration and Groundwater Recharge Accordion Closed
Description: This group is researching the efficacy of LID basins on campus. LID basins collect water and filter them, and are an alternative to more infrastructure heavy basins that are less sustainable. They will be testing the water’s quality to find out if the LID basins are more effective than an alternative, and potentially recommending the installation of more LID basins.
Most recent update: This group is currently collecting data!
USEFULL Pilot Program Accordion Closed
Description: This project will replace the O2Go system on campus, with new mandatory stainless steel containers at three dining locations on campus. This will reduce plastic waste for campus dining.
Most recent update: This project has launched at Cobrizo, Turnip the Greens and LemonGrass! We have matched the impact that O2Go accomplished in 5 years already!
Passive Radiative Cooling Accordion Closed
Description: This research seeks to test the heat flow, and in turn passive cooling performance, of heat exchangers that the Green Fund previously funded through temperature, flow rate and radiative measurements under a variety of flow rates and outdoor weather conditions.
Most recent update: This research group is currently collecting data.
Adding Electric Utility Vehicles to NAU’s Facility Services Fleet Accordion Closed
Description: Purchasing five EUVs for NAU Facility Services Fleet to help lower their carbon emissions.
Most recent update: These vehicles are on campus and we are designing a wrap for them!
