Fact Sheet
- The Green Fund was founded in 2010.
- A group of students came together to make the Green Fund in order to promote sustainability on campus.
- The Green Fund funds projects, research and events on the Flagstaff Mountain campus and in the Flagstaff area that are related to sustainability.
- The Green Fund receives a budget of nearly $600,000 per year through the $15 Green Fee that students pay every semester.
- All students, staff and faculty at the NAU Flagstaff Mountain campus can request Green Fund funding.
- The Green Fund accepts applications for research, projects and events at any time, but only reviews them during the regular fall and spring semesters at their weekly meetings.
- The Green Fund is composed of 8 committee members and 4 faculty and staff advisors.
- The Green Fund committee member positions are as follows: two co-chairs, PR specialist, secretary, treasurer, impact analyst, community outreach coordinator, and graduate student representative.
- Students apply for different committee member positions as they become available and are hired by the Office of Sustainability.
- The Green Fund is not a club, but rather a funding body for sustainability on campus.
- The Green Fund is overseen by the Arizona Board of Regents.
- The Green Fund is housed under the Office of Sustainability at NAU.
