Website consultation

Make informed decisions about your website.

Academic Affairs Marketing (AAM) helps colleges, departments, and other Academic Affairs units make strategic decisions about how their websites are organized, managed, and found.

Through consultation, guidance, and training, we help your team evaluate your existing web presence, understand how your site fits within NAU’s broader academic web ecosystem, and identify opportunities to improve the experience for both your audiences and site editors.

Build a stronger, more focused web presence

Through website review, content strategy, and search optimization, AAM helps you determine what content belongs on your site, how it should be organized, and how people, search engines, and AI assistants can find and understand it. You’ll leave with clear recommendations and resources your team can use to strengthen your web presence over time.

Areas of focus

  • Content & site strategy – Review your site inventory, organization, navigation, and analytics to identify opportunities to simplify your web presence, better organize content, and create a clearer experience for your audiences. Recommendations can include navigation improvements, with AAM managing approved menu updates for Academic Affairs sites.
  • Search optimization – Apply best practices to help search engines and AI assistants understand your content and surface it in relevant searches and responses.
  • Site editor guidance – Build the knowledge and skills to confidently manage your website with guidance on WordPress, Gutenberg blocks, accessibility requirements, NAU web standards, and other site management questions.

Understand your website’s role in the bigger picture

NAU’s academic web presence includes different websites and resources designed to serve different audiences and needs. AAM can help you understand where your site fits within that ecosystem, what information belongs there, and when audiences should be connected to other NAU resources. The result is a more focused web presence that supports your unit’s goals without duplicating information or asking one site to serve every purpose.
