Academic Affairs Marketing (AAM) is an outcomes-oriented, data- and best-practices-informed team that supports Northern Arizona University’s Academic Affairs division. Our work focuses on advancing academic momentum, supporting student persistence, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing efforts across a decentralized environment.
In collaboration with internal partners, we provide strategy, consultation, tools, training, and campaign support that strengthen the positioning of colleges, academic units, and public-facing services within Academic Affairs.

AAM works with colleges, departments, and units housed within Academic Affairs. Our services are designed for faculty, staff, and communicators who support marketing and outreach as part of their role.
How do I request marketing support? Accordion Closed
To request support for any AAM service, please submit a request. Requests help us understand your goals, timeline, and audience so we can route and prioritize work effectively.
Does AAM design flyers or other printed materials? Accordion Closed
The university does not currently offer centralized graphic design services. If you need design support, we recommend contacting The VisualDESIGNLab or working with an approved external vendor.
AAM can support messaging, content strategy, and planning, even when design work is handled elsewhere.
How do I order printed flyers, stickers, or other materials? Accordion Closed
NAU Printing Services has expanded its offerings to better support students and the campus community—including NAU student clubs and organizations—through a Digital Storefront available at nau.edu/printhub.
The Digital Storefront makes it easier for campus groups to order professional-quality printed and promotional materials for events, outreach, and everyday needs. Available products include:
- Stickers, flyers, and posters
- Table throws and event signage
- Short-run t-shirts and apparel
- Tote bags, mugs, and other custom items
Printing Services specializes in fast, professional production to help your organization promote events, increase visibility, and meet engagement goals—without the need for off-campus vendors.
Can I purchase advertising to promote my program? Accordion Closed
Advertising opportunities outside of university-level campaigns are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please email aamarketing@nau.edu for guidance.
How do I make my digital files accessible? Accordion Closed
- Internally-facing materials: NAU units may request ADA accessibility remediation support for materials shared with current NAU students, faculty, and staff through Disability Resources using the Usable Materials Request form.
- Externally-facing materials: Academic Affairs units sharing materials with an external audience may request an ADA accessibility remediation consultation from the Academic Affairs Marketing team by emailing aamarketing@nau.edu
Does AAM support website updates? Accordion Closed
Yes. AAM provides website support for Academic Affairs sites on in.nau.edu and legacy domains. If your unit does not have internal web editing capacity, our team can make content updates directly on your behalf by submitting a request.
What is Oasis? Accordion Closed
Oasis is the workflow tool used to submit edits and new pages for review before publication on Academic Affairs websites. It ensures content is reviewed for adherence to web publishing best practices, accessibility, and brand alignment.
How do I become a Site Steward? Accordion Closed
To become a Site Steward:
- Request a sandbox site through ServiceNow
- Complete the required WordPress training
- Gain access after training completion
You will receive instructions via email once your request is approved.
Who do I contact to schedule a photo shoot? Accordion Closed
Photography requests should be submitted using the SEM Request Form and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If capacity is unavailable, you may also contact an NAU-approved or local photographer from SEM’s list.
Additionally, Cline Library Photography Studio allows you to take professional, studio-quality photos using multi-function lighting and equipment setup (camera not included). Individual students or groups of up to 8 people can shoot portrait or still life photography using one of two lighting stations.
Who handles video production? Accordion Closed
Request videography support using the SEM Request Form. Requests are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis. If SEM does not have capacity to support your videography request, you may ask SEM for a current list of NAU-approved videographers.
AAM can assist with video strategy, messaging, and planning, even when production is handled elsewhere.
Does AAM produce podcasts? Accordion Closed
AAM does not produce podcasts directly. The Cline Library Production Studios offer specialized hardware and software for recording and editing multimedia projects. These studios are ideal for: recording audio for interviews, podcasts, or voiceovers, editing multimedia projects with advanced software.

Campaign blueprints showcase examples of integrated campaigns and tactics that can be adapted to your unit’s goals.
Can I request AAM support even if my unit already has dedicated marketing and/or communication support? Accordion Closed
Yes. AAM frequently partners with embedded communicators support and unit-level staff to provide strategy, tools, alignment, and additional capacity when needed. If your NAU unit has dedicated marketing and communications support (e.g., a Communications Manager), please collaborate directly with them first on any marketing or communications campaigns. This ensures consistency, efficiency, and alignment with university standards.
How far in advance should I request support? Accordion Closed
Begin planning at least six months in advance—ideally one year for major initiatives.
Even short-term campaigns require 2–3 months for approvals, planning, and content development.
