Veterans Week 2025
November 8th-10th
Join us for a week of events in celebration of the experiences and sacrifices of those who have served our country. Most events take place on NAU’s Flagstaff campus, with live broadcasts available for our online, statewide, and Lumberjack community partners who are unable to attend in person.
Saturday, November 8th: Military Appreciation & Homecoming Football Game – 4:00 PM at the Skydome
Join us to root on our Men’s Football team against Northern Colorado! Tickets will be available at our Veteran & Military Services Tailgate, beginning at 1:00 PM. Monday, November 10th: Veteran Flag Tribute – 5:00 PM at Ardrey Auditorium and Livestream
Join us in person or through livestream to say thank you to those who are or who have served and learn more about the diversity of the veteran experience. This year will include Native American Dance performances along with three veteran stories of what Veterans Day means to them. Our guest speakers are:
- Mr. Anthony Ganiglia: Anthony Caniglia is an advocate for veterans and community initiatives, committed to building programs that make a lasting impact. Through his work with organizations like the Nation of Patriots and the Arizona Elks Association, he’s helped create meaningful opportunities for service and support. He believes in leading with integrity, collaboration, and purpose.
- Col. Thomas Waddle USAF (Ret.): A former commander of AFROTC Detachment 027 at Northern Arizona University, Col. Waddell’s leadership earned the detachment the 1994 Right of Line Award as the best in the nation. Today, he continues to serve the Flagstaff veteran community as President of the Grand Canyon Chapter, Military Officers Association of America.
- Ms. Tierre Hazlewood: Tierre Hazlewood served a total of 11 years in both the United States Air Force and the Louisiana Air National Guard. During this time, she completed a hardship tour in Osan, AB Korea, activated for multiple national disasters, along with a combat communication tour in Afghanistan. Today, she is completing her final year in NAU’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program to fulfill her scholarship obligation at Vet Centers counseling service members/veterans in underserved areas.
