PEP Approval Steps
Applying to a professional education program
Welcome!
Congratulations on selecting a NAU professional education program. NAU’s professional education programs are nationally accredited. NAU graduates are highly sought after for education positions by school districts throughout Arizona, and certified educators are in high demand in Arizona.
- Complete application for admission to NAU
- Check admission criteria in NAU Catalog
- Select a PEP major
- Ensure all official college and university transcripts have been sent to NAU
- Be granted admission to the university
- Check your NAU email frequently, all official correspondence will be sent to this account
- NOTE: Before you get started, be aware you will need to have applied for a Fingerprint Clearance Card IVP #
- STEP 1. Once you have been admitted to a PEP major, a PEP Approval link will appear in your LOUIE To Do list. This link will take you to a Canvas shell with tasks to complete. It will take approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete the entire shell, and students can complete the shell in one sitting or complete tasks over time.
- STEP 2. Complete the mandatory coursework for PEP approval and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Each degree will have different coursework requirements that are spelled out in the NAU course catalog. Open the webpage for your particular degree, and look under the “Details” tab for
- Recommended deadline for submission of application
- Undergraduate: Finalize application as soon as possible
- Transfer: Finalize application immediately upon admission to NAU
- Graduate: Finalize application immediately upon admission to NAU
- Incomplete applications cannot be processed
