Community Engagement Time
Staff can use up to 16 hours a calendar year of paid time to volunteer in their communities.
This program encourages NAU staff (administrators, classified staff, and service professionals) to take part in projects that support the communities in which we live and serve.

Rules to remember
- 16 hours are granted each calendar year and do not carryover.
- Must be used to assist a community service organization outside of the university.
- Community Engagement Time must be used during regularly scheduled work time.
- Use of Community Engagement Time is approved by your supervisor.
- Unused hours are not paid out when you leave the university.
