NAU Green Fund Updates Committee Role Title
The NAU Green Fund has changed a committee member position title to better accommodate the needs of the committee. The previous Impact Analyst title has changed to Internal Resources Coordinator, or IRC. This change will allow the Green Fund to compile a repository of past projects and research for all of NAU to access as well as organize resources for current and future committee members to further their institutional knowledge and understanding of sustainability as it pertains to higher education.
As the current IRC, Grace Carr, has been in the position, they noticed that the Green Fund could do more with its projects and research than simply collect data and present it, so they decided to revamp the position into the IRC in order to continue working with data while also compiling resources for the committee, as well as creating a repository where all past projects and research from the Green Fund can live. The repository will be accessible to the entire NAU community and will live on the Green Fund’s website.
This change will allow the Green Fund to have long term access to past work all in one place. Because the Green Fund started in 2010, a lot of information about projects and research are in various places because of the ever changing nature of the internet. The repository will allow all projects to be housed in one place.
Grace Carr says, “The modification of Impact Analyst into Internal Resources Coordinator expands the possibilities for committee members, project leads, and the public to receive support in their endeavors. I hope my new role will allow for the improvement of the Green Fund as a funding body overall.”
The NAU Green Fund was founded in 2010 and is comprised of eight students in addition to faculty and staff members who vote to fund projects and research using the $15 per student per semester Green Fee. All of the Green Fund’s meetings are open to the public and any student, staff or faculty member at the Flagstaff Mountain Campus can submit a proposal.
