Join us for a week of fun, sustainability, and community building!
Dates: April 21 – 25, 2025
What is Green Transportation Week?
Ditch the car and use an alternative form of transportation when you come to campus this week! You can ride your bike or scooter, walk on the Flagstaff Urban Trail System, take the Mountain Line bus or NAU Campus Shuttle, or carpool with a friend. When you participate you can enter to win prizes! We will also be having fun events throughout the week to learn about sustainable transportation options around Flagstaff.

Monday 4/21
- Clean Commute Challenge (all day) – Take an alternative form of transportation to campus and log your participation here!
- Tabling on the Pedway (11am – 1pm, Union Pedway) – Stop by to talk to sustainable transportation organizations and other sustainability groups on campus.
- Mountain Line Bus Demo (11am – 1pm near the Fieldhouse) – Talk to Mountain Line bus drivers and practice loading your bike onto the front racks!
- Bike Skills and Safety Workshop (1pm – 2pm at NAU Outdoor Adventures Office, HLC Room 1229) – Join us for a fun and informative bike clinic at Outdoor Adventures! We will talk about basic bike safety, fit and adjustment, what to wear, important protective gear and more! Come learn how to have fun, stay safe, and ride free in Flagstaff!
Tuesday 4/22
- Clean Commute Challenge (all day) – Take an alternative form of transportation to campus and log your participation here!
- Tabling on the Pedway (11am – 1pm, Union Pedway) – Stop by to talk to sustainable transportation organizations and other sustainability groups on campus.
- Bike Repair Clinic (9am – 3pm, Union Pedway) – Stop by and have your bike repaired by the mechanics with the Yellow Bike Program!
- Mountain Line Bus Demo (11am – 1pm near the Fieldhouse) – Talk to Mountain Line bus drivers and practice loading your bike onto the front racks!
Wednesday 4/23
- Clean Commute Challenge (all day) – Take an alternative form of transportation to campus and log your participation here!
- Tabling on the Pedway (11am – 1pm, Union Pedway) – Stop by to talk to sustainable transportation organizations and other sustainability groups on campus.
- Community Bike Ride (5pm – 6pm, meet at NAU Outdoor Adventures Office back doors) – A fun, slow paced community bike ride around campus! We will move as a group as we make our way around the pedways and bike lanes of Northern Arizona University. The theme for this week’s ride is “Lumberjacks”! Wear your school gear or dress in lumberjack inspired clothing. Meet by the side doors of the HLC off Mountain View Road across from Citizens Cemetery at 4:45. Bring your own bike or borrow one of ours (limit 12). Ride will depart at 5pm. Bring a water bottle, bike, and helmet (unless you are borrowing one of us).
Thursday 4/24

Friday 4/25
- Sustainable Transportation Celebration (11am – 2pm, North Quad) – Join us to enjoy free food, chat with our sustainability partners, enjoy educational activities about sustainable transportation, and more! Stick around to play trivia and win a prize at noon, or hear our raffle prize winners at 1pm!
- Where’s Louie? Shuttle Challenge (10am-12pm, NAU Shuttles) – Find Louie on the NAU Shuttle, then take a photo and post to social media!
