Are you a middle school or high school educator interested in learning new and innovative ways to engage students and teach math? The AZ K12 Center GEAR UP Math Institute may be what you are looking for. From June 16 – 18, participants will learn from some of the top educators in the field. The three-day event will take place at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona. This event is completely free for teachers at GEAR UP Schools – from event costs to accommodations.
Dr. Mike Flynn, Director of Mathematics Leadership Programs at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, will lead educators through the days’ event and cover topics such as:
- How to identify and address the needs of diverse groups of students regarding algebra instruction.
- New strategies to implement in their classrooms.
- How to plan instruction vertically across grade levels to ensure a high impact on students.
