As schools have been transitioning back to being fully in-person, Arizona GEAR UP’s Senior Services Manager, Daniel Pulu, saw an opportunity to help our partners build a college-going culture in our GEAR UP schools.
Earlier this year, Daniel kicked off the Custom Senior Services Tour, where he visits our schools and offers in-person/virtual support with college readiness and preparation.
“Since I started this position, our interactions with the schools have been 100% virtual. Now that majority, if not all, schools are back in person, I want to offer as much support as possible. So far, the schools I have assisted have all been appreciative of our services,” Daniel said.
Daniel can assist schools in a variety of ways; he can host presentations, help facilitate workshops, or be a resource at an event. He is open to helping in any capacity he can.
Here are a few examples of areas Daniel can help with:
- FSA ID creation workshop
- FAFSA completion events
- One-on-one appointments with students
- Scholarship workshop
- Launch Guide training to staff/educators
- Postsecondary options, financial aid, and scholarships
Since starting the tour, Daniel has visited several of our GEAR UP schools and has plans for many more. His goal is to visit as many schools as possible.
If you are interested in having Daniel visit your school, visit the Custom Senior Services page for more information and to request a visit.
