Insight Meditation Class (free!)
Guided by Drs. Allen Atkins, PhD, Professor, W.A. Franke College of Business and Cathy Small, PhD, Professor, Anthropology Department

Insight Meditation is part of an ancient tradition originating in India 2,600 years ago. The practice involves both concentration and contemplative methods of meditation. Learn to reduce stress and anxiety by focusing on the present moment. It is important participants attend all 6 classes, as each class builds on previous instruction and practice. Please arrive 10 minutes early to get settled. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. This class is free and open to all NAU faculty, staff, students and the Flagstaff community (18 years and older).
To register, e-mail ask-eaw@nau.edu.

Valentines, Self-Compassion, and Self-Acceptance
Led by Shawnee McDowell, MSW, LCSW, EAW Counselor and Suzanne Botello, PhD, LPC, EAW Psychologist
Tuesday, February 12, 10:30 am – 12 noon
HLC room 2405

Most of us work very hard at relationships, seeking new ways to love and be loved. We don’t always offer equal time to our relationships with SELF. Join us for a creative session in which we will use art to explore the process of self-love, self-compassion and self-acceptance, using principles derived from the work of Dr. Kristin Neff. Make a valentine for yourself as a reminder of the importance of practicing self-acceptance!
To register, e-mail ask-eaw@nau.edu.
