Virtual Recruiting Experience
Graduate School and Career Fair Week
Career Development is proud to invite students, employers and graduate colleges to connect during the Spring 2021 semester. The Virtual Recruiting Experience (VRX week) this semester will take place with one industry-specific fair each day during the week of February 15 – 19, 2021. Although individual fairs are organized by industry, students of all majors are invited to attend as they prepare for their Career step!

We are very excited to provide you with several opportunities throughout VRX Week this semester! Attend any of the events within the week to connect with:
- companies who are hiring for internships and entry level positions, and
- graduate schools recruiting for their programs.
There will be five fairs for you to choose from. Not all recruiting organizations will be at all of the sessions, so monitor the links below and choose wisely!
You must register for each fair group and/or individual recruiter offering in which you would like to participate.
Check out our resource page to see what a virtual career fair experience might be like for students or alumni!

The Spring 2021 VRX Week is the sole NAU recruiting event attended by students of all majors and provides an opportunity for students to connect with employers and graduate schools as they pursue internships, full-time employment, and further education. This is NAU’s largest recruiting event!
The event will be hosted on Handshake; check out Handshake’s Guide to Attending a Virtual Career Fair to learn more about what the event will look like and what to expect. There will be a total of FIVE sessions for the Spring 2021 schedule; your registration fee includes attendance at two sessions, but you can attend more for a small fee.

Student FAQs
I registered for the fair… what now? Accordion Closed
There are several steps you can take to prepare yourself before event day!
- Create a strong resume. Cover letters aren’t necessary for career fairs, but the resources below can help you prepare when you apply for positions. For personalized support, sign up for an appointment on Handshake!
- Activate/update your profile on Handshake. Don’t forget to upload your resume! Adjust your profile privacy options in Handshake as recommended.
- Make sure you have a professional outfit to wear! Professional dress is expected (or at least hoped for!) by the recruiters who will be attending.
- Plan out where you will join the event via computer. Make sure the background is professional looking and that the computer has a working microphone and camera.
- Follow the instructions that have been sent in Handshake emails to register for events, sessions, group presentations and 1:1 meetings!
- Research the organizations you will engage with – ahead of time. LinkedIn and the organization’s website/social media channels are good places to start to get an idea of the work they do.
- On event day (and at the time of the sessions you’ve pre-registered for), log into Handshake and/or Zoom to participate in the virtual fair.
