Become a Helping HAND!

In order help our on-campus employers to feel more confident, better able to help students use Handshake, and maintain consistent and compliant recruiting practices, Student Employment at NAU knows that they need to have the appropriate support, tools, resources, and recognition to do so.

Participants who have successfully completed this training program are now officially recognized as the Handshake expert(s) in their department, receiving an official certificate, a 3D-printed miniature Handshake chair trophy, and more, to showcase their proficiency.

We are delighted to recognize the following individuals who have successfully completed NAU’s Handshake “Certification” Program and become certified Helping HANDs!

Federal Work-Study (FWS) Accordion Closed

Student Employment at NAU partners with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to make finding and hiring FWS-eligible students easy. FWS-eligible students are indicated as “work-study” in Handshake, making their applications easy for you to identify. For more information on posting work-study jobs in Handshake and identifying FWS-eligible applicants, review the Recruitment and Selection section above or contact StudentEmployment@nau.edu. To become an FWS employer or for questions about hiring students for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at FederalWorkStudy@nau.edu.

Hiring international students Accordion Closed

International students are typically only allowed to work on campus due to their student visa statuses. Fortunately, there is usually little extra paperwork for an employer who hires international students and the recruitment and selection process in the same as for domestic students. Learn how to hire international students in three easy steps.
