Overview Accordion Open
A block quote is applied to emphasize a particularly engaging or important bit of text on your page. A block quote stands out! It doesn’t need to be a “quote,” per se, and can be left, right, or center aligned.
This is a block quote aligned to the left.
This one is center-aligned.
This one is aligned to the right.
- Block quotes can be attached to columns and accordions.
- Hyperlinks cannot be attached to block quotes.
- Some formatting in block quotes is unavailable (ex: line breaks, bolding).
How-To Accordion Closed
You may find it easier to convert text into a block quote after adding the text to the page, so instructions for both methods are covered.
Text added to the shortcode:
- Select the block quote.
- Select the alignment option.
The shortcode appears in the text editor. - Insert your cursor between the shortcode bookends.
- Enter the text to include in the block quote.

- Highlight the text.
- Select the block quote.
- Select the alignment option.
Troubleshooting Accordion Closed
If your block quote isn’t showing up as intended, check the following:
- Check the justification, which is inside of the block quote shortcode. Change it if necessary.
- Ensure that the text for the shortcode is complete, all brackets are present, and the closing brackets contain a forward slash (/).
