Meeting Minutes

A meeting with WordPress Unit Web Coordinators regarding the site migration process.

Migration Updates: 

An August 1 deadline has been established for the discontinuation of Ektron content management system for NAU. In order to meet the August 1 deadline established for discontinuation of Ektron, the site creation and migration process must change significantly. ITS has partnered with the vendor WordHerd to achieve a mass migration before this deadline. We want to avoid juggling Ektron and WordPress sites and mitigate potential summer site… Read more

April 4th Release

Today we deployed a new version of the NAU Enterprise theme. The new version can be seen in the dev, qa, staging, training, and production environments. We are happy to announce the official launch of the directory integration. All redirects on directory pages in prod have been removed. March 2nd Release

Last Friday, March 2nd, we deployed a new version of the NAU Enterprise theme. This new version can be seen in the dev, qa, and production environments. An update to staging will come later this week. Below are a lists of notes that accompany the release.   • Faculty/Staff directory integration pulling from directory and Faculty 180
  • Academic catalog widgets for WordPress (matching Ektron widget functionality)
  • Events.nau.edu integration

Risks/challenges

  • Photos
  • Organizational changes/reorgs
  • Site consolidation, i.e. reduction of pages is a GOOD thing, but causes extra work up front to determine new site structure
  • Web applications throughout sites require additional design/development time
