University Policies on Alcohol and Drugs
In the interests of all university employees and students, NAU policies require university employees to report to work in a condition that allows them to safely and efficiently perform their duties. NAU also expects students to attend classes and other educational activities in a condition that allows them to perform their educational tasks and to participate effectively with other members of the university community. The use of alcohol and/or illegal drugs by NAU employees or students during work hours at NAU, while occupying university vehicles, while on university business, during class time, on field trips and/or during other educational activities is strictly prohibited, except where permitted by the Arizona Board of Regents and/or NAU’s President or the President’s designee.
Violations of NAU or ABOR policies regarding alcohol or other drug use will subject the violator to legal sanctions and/or university disciplinary action.
