The Geospatial Research and Information Laboratory (GRAIL) hosts the Esri statewide educational license makes ArcGIS software available for free to all Arizona public, charter, private, and home schools, as well nonprofit, youth-serving organizations.
HIGHERED-L is a moderated list created for the ESRI higher education user community. This list provides an opportunity to post information and questions related to teaching and research at colleges and universities. This includes questions about the use of all of ESRI’s software products, curriculum, pedagogy, lab set up, and program development and support.

GIS Data Depot – Download for free or purchase data at both state and county levels, including DEM’s, DRG’s, and DOQQ’s.
National Atlas – Mapping professionals can select from hundreds of map layers containing geographic information collected by federal agencies in areas ranging presidential election results and crime statistics to land cover and precipitation
The National Map – Available geographic information includes orthoimagery (aerial photographs), elevation, geographic names, hydrography, boundaries, transportation, structures, and land cover.
USGS Core Science Clearinghouse – A metadata repository holding thousands of records describing scientific datasets, projects, or software tools used in biological and ecological scientific analysis
