Strategies & Activities for Building a College-Going Culture – Middle Grades

Arizona GEAR UP has worked with over 40 middle schools/junior high schools over almost two decades to create, enhance and/or sustain college-going cultures on their campuses. Based on this experience, we have created Strategies & Activities for Building a College-Going Culture – Middle Grades, which lists a variety of tried-and-true ideas, some easily and inexpensively implemented, some more challenging and multi-faceted. This document can be particularly helpful after completing the College/Career Readiness & Awareness Rubric – Middle Grades, to identify aspects of your school culture that need particular attention.
