Louie’s Leftovers

Louie’s Leftovers is a program aimed to reduce food waste and food insecurity on campus. Hosts of catered campus events can opt-in to the Louie’s Leftovers program and have remaining food at an event given to students on campus. Students are notified via NAUgo when there is a Louie’s Leftover event on campus.

Identify yourself below to learn more about how to participate in Louie’s Leftovers.

Help NAU close the loop on food waste and feed students by donating your leftovers through the Louie’s Leftovers program.

Before Your Formal Event

When completing the catering order form through Catertrax, select the Louie’s Leftovers check box.

Note: Checking this box does not mean that you know that you will definitely have leftovers, it simply means that, if you do have leftovers, you would like to participate in the program.

Once Your Formal Event Has Ended

Ask yourself these questions to see if your event qualifies for Louie’s Leftovers.

  – Is your event in a publicly accessed building on NAU campus?
Students must be able to easily get into the building to collect their Louie’s Leftovers.
– Do you have at least 6 servings of food leftover?
We want the Louie’s Leftovers event to accommodate a lot of students.
– Do you have the space reserved for at least 30 minutes longer (and are able to stay as well?)
We want to give students enough time to get to the location and collect leftovers.

If your event qualifies and you are ready to send out a Louie’s Leftovers notification, call the Student Technology Center by tapping the number below!

928-523-9294

Yourcall with the Student Technology Center will last no more than a couple minutes. Be prepared to answer the following questions in order to populate the communication file in NAUgo:

– Where is the event located?
Example: University union, Room 136.  A map link will be created to help students get to the event location.
– What type of food is available?
Example: Taco bar with gluten-free and vegan options.
– How many servings are available?
Example: There are about 12 servings available.
– How long will food be available?
Example: Food is available until 6:30pm

The Louie’s Leftovers Notification for your event will look like this:
