How to make the most of Career Coffee Corner
- Do your homework: Before attending, check which employers will be there and learn a bit about them. This shows initiative and helps you ask insightful questions.
- Perfect your elevator pitch: Be ready to introduce yourself briefly and highlight your skills and interests. Make a memorable first impression!
- Ask questions: Don’t be shy! This is your opportunity to learn about different career paths, company cultures, and what employers look for in candidates.
- Bring your resume: Have a few copies of your resume on hand. Some employers may be ready to collect them or may ask for one.

About Career Coffee Corner
Career Coffee Corner is held weekly during the Fall and Spring semesters, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the University Union, near the Hot Spot. This event provides employers with the chance to meet face-to-face with NAU Lumberjacks studying various industries, make valuable connections and engage in discussions about career paths, internships, and job opportunities.
Benefits of Participating
By attending Career Coffee Corner, you will be able to:
- Promote your job openings and internships directly to students.
- Gather resumes and hold informal interviews.
- Increase awareness of your organization among NAU students in a high-traffic area of the University Union.
We provide a complete setup, including a 6-foot table, two chairs, a whiteboard, catering (coffee and cookies), and a parking pass for your convenience. Additionally, your company will be featured in our social media promotions, on Handshake, and in our Career Development Newsletter to ensure maximum visibility for your participation.
Cost and Logistics
The fee for attending Career Coffee Corner is $200, which covers the tabling space rental, advertising, refreshments, and support from the NAU Career Development staff. Upon request, you may also reserve an interview room and conference table equipped with a display screen at the NAU Career Development office.
