1. What do you love to do most in the world?
Sit down and make a list of 20 things you love to do. Once you finish it, look through it. What’s the common theme? Is it being up and active? Then maybe an office job isn’t for you. Do you love working outside? Or maybe you love being on your computer surfing the web. By figuring out what you love to do, you can determine what kind of career path may be right for you.
2. So you’re already in college and have a set degree…take your search online!
You’re already taking classes and you love it! But what do you do with it? Go to sites like onetonline.org and you can search what kind of jobs you can get with your degree. Then you’ll be able to see average yearly income, requirements, and details about the job.
3. Volunteer or intern.
The best way to figure out whether or not you’ll like or love a job is to volunteer or intern there! Besides it looking great on your resume, you can really get a feel for what working there would be like. It might be a bad idea to spend 5+ years in medical school to find out you hate working in a hospital. Being in the actual environment of a potential career path will show you what your future could look like.
