ON THE SIXTH DAY OF RESUMES,
NAU Career told me:
WRITE ACCOMPLISHMENT STATEMENTS,
USE STRONG ACTION VERBS,
MAKE YOUR MARGINS EVEN,
THREE TO FIVE KEY QUALIFICATIONS,
ONE TO TWO FORMATTED PAGES,
AND HAVE A SOLIDLY CRAFTED RESUME!

Day 6: Accomplishment statements
Although you may not have over 1,000 years of experience efficiently delivering toys to roughly 2 billion children in 1 night, you can still write a strong accomplishment statement!
So what exactly is an accomplishment statement?
Accomplishment statements are short summaries (30 words or less) that describe WHAT you did, HOW you did it, and WHY it’s relevant to your application. Follow the steps below to write your own!
Strong Action Verbs (WHAT)
Specify / Quantify (HOW)
Results / Outcomes (WHY)
When in doubt, just follow the advice of our favorite career cat:
Be sure to QUANTIFY and SPECIFY your experience to show the employer that you’re qualified for the job. And remember:
If you can count it, state it, and if you can describe it, add it!
