Open to NAU students and the community
The Testing Center supports student success by offering exams that students may need to get into college, to obtain college credit, to place in college classes, and to prepare for life after college.
NAU Testing Resources for Faculty Accordion Closed
The Testing Center can provide proctoring for NAU courses including make-up exams. A fee is charged on a per-student basis.
Please complete the following form and send it to testing@nau.edu to arrange proctoring. Use Adobe Reader to complete the form.
GED and AZ Civics Accordion Closed
We are a Pearson Vue Select Testing Center offering the GED and the AZ Civics Test. To register and pay for your GED and AZ Civics Test, visit the GED website , create an account and then search for your closest test center. For more information you can also visit the AZ Department of Education GED website.
Pearson Vue Accordion Closed
We are a Pearson Vue Select Testing Center. We administer GED, NES, GMAT, NREMT, DANB, Real Estate, American Medical Technologists and several other tests through this partnership.

Career guidance and vocational interest Accordion Closed
NAU Career Development offers the following two services free to currently enrolled students:

The Newly Revised Strong Interest Inventory is the most respected and widely used career planning instrument in the world, with major updates and new content that reflect the way we work today.

The MAT, Miller Analogies Test, for admission to graduate programs, is computer-based. The fee for the test is $85 for NAU students and $100 for all others.

CLEP Accordion Closed
To Register for a CLEP Exam
Step 1– Each college sets its own policy regarding which CLEP exams it will grant credit for and how many credits it will award. Review NAU’s CLEP credit by exam policies.
Step 2– Check available NAU Exams
Step 3– Visit the CLEP website to register and pay for the exam you want to take
Step 4– To register and pay to take the CLEP at the NAU Testing Center, go to NAU Testing Center Registration.. The fee is $50.
Step 5– Bring your CLEP voucher and valid ID on the day of your exam
Nursing exams Accordion Closed
IMPORTANT: Registration and Kaplan testing for Traditional BSN Spring admission will occur: July 1 – September 10, 2021
The Kaplan entrance exam is required for admission to the School of Nursing. For detail instructions on apply to the School of Nursing, please see the website at https://nau.edu/nursing/admissions-overview/
- Apply to Northern Arizona University – online application
- Apply to the School of Nursing – online application
- Schedule to take the Kaplan Exam before the testing deadline
- Cannot schedule an exam without applying online to the School of Nursing first.
- School of Nursing will not register students for the Kaplan exam without a completed School of Nursing application.
- IMPORTANT: Once you register and pay for the KAPLAN exam, you need to submit testing information to nursing@nau.edu. Your full name, testing location, testing center email address, and date of scheduled exam. Please allow 5-7 business days to complete this process. You should receive a confirmation email that will need to be brought to the testing center with two forms of ID.
To register and pay to take the Kaplan Admission Exam at the NAU Testing Center, go to NAU Testing Center Registration.
The Kaplan Admission Exam fee is $50
Canceling and rescheduling of KAPLAN exams MUST be done more than 24 hours in advance or the examinee will forfeit the entire testing fee and repayment will be required to reschedule.
Proctored exams Accordion Closed
The Testing Center is available to proctor tests for other institutions. We can accommodate paper-based and computer-based exams. The following information can be used to fill-out a Proctor Information sheet that may be required by your institution.

Please note that Testing Center must receive the exam (either paper-based or electronic) before the appointment can be scheduled. Please register and pay for your test through the Online Registration System. Choose “Correspondence” as the test option.
