Hello, WordPress users!
We wanted to provide you with an update from the Web Team regarding the topics covered at the last Unit Web Coordinator meeting on August 3rd. Since that meeting considerable progress has been made relating to site launches, theme updates, training changes, and mass migration. In order to promote brevity during this busy time of year, we are opting to list the pertinent updates:
- 10 more sites have been launched into WordPress, and the Site Migration Scorecard is up to date.
- Another 8 sites are scheduled to launch by the end of this week, including the University Marketing revamped Franke College of Business.
- At the request of the CIO and many customers, site launches will be limited to only essential items during the first two weeks of the new semester.
- 2 theme updates have gone live, with another scheduled for today, all of which contain bug fixes and styling enhancements.
- SiteImprove notification groups are setup with feedback being gathered from the Library as initial testers.
- The pivot to online training continues and the official launch of that service is coming soon!
- An additional 81 Ektron sites have been mass migrated by WordHerd, of which 51 have initial QA completed. This raises the total of sites through that process to 155 and 116 respectively.
- Platform work continues across multiple ITS teams to host the mass migrated content, with launches of those sites expected to begin by mid-September.
The mass migration remains our top priority and we will continue to move these efforts forward as quickly as possible. We will be providing an update at the next Unit Web Coordinators meeting on Friday, September 7th, and will continue to post communications to the nau.edu/web website. If you have any questions around this message or any other WordPress-related concerns, please contact us via email at WCM-Support@nau.edu.
Thank you all for your patience throughout this process, and we look forward to working with you further as we enter the final stages of this migration!
