Shortcodes
Overview Accordion Open
Shortcodes are WordPress-specific shortcuts used to embed custom elements into your page that would normally require complicated code/coding. The shortcode buttons are built into the Visual editor with all of the standard editing buttons.
Examples of some WordPress content elements that can be easily added with shortcodes are accordions, tabs, and image captions.
How-To Accordion Closed
Add shortcodes to your page by placing your cursor where you want the content to go and selecting the shortcode button you’d like to use. A string of code will appear in the Visual editor. Follow the instructions in the style guide for configuring each type of custom element shortcode.
Troubleshooting Accordion Closed
Most issues with shortcodes arise from accidental deletion of a bookend bracket, incorrect placement of the content, or incorrect formatting of the content. Double-check the instructions for the type of shortcode you’re using.
