Echoes of the Open Road
Through December 2026
At dusk, Route 66 comes alive. Highway lines, turned to gold by the setting sun, become a blur under the wheels of your car …
2026 marks the 100th anniversary of Route 66, America’s celebrated Mother Road. This exhibit explores the development and impact of Route 66 in Arizona during the century. We invite you to learn about the road, its iconic destinations, and the people that have called it home.
Located in the Jean Collins Reading Room and the front lobby at Cline Library, the exhibit will be available for public viewing from February 2026 to December 2026 during the library’s open hours; the online exhibit can be found here.
