In 2008, Congress amended the Higher Education Opportunity Act to allow GEAR UP grantees to serve students through their first year of postsecondary education, rather than ending services at high school graduation. Therefore, currently, from 2018 to 2019, NAU has partnered with the postsecondary institutions listed below to serve approximately 1,350 Class of 2018 GEAR UP graduates in their first year of college. State Office staff also continue to directly serve GEAR UP graduates attending other postsecondary institutions.
