Online College Access Professional (CAP) Training
There are many exciting updates about the 2024-2025 College Access Professional (CAP) Training courses offered to all Arizona College Access Network (AzCAN) members. If you have not had the opportunity to become an AzCAN member, you can join here for free! Consider taking advantage of one of the most valuable AzCAN member benefits by registering for one or more of the newly redesigned and updated College Access Professional (CAP) Training courses.
Some noteworthy features of the new CAP courses include:
- AZGU is covering the course fee for educators from AZGU school partner schools. To take advantage of the AZGU CAP scholarship, partners will need to register for the course by emailing Jennifer Murphy at jmurphy@educationforwardarizona.org. Include your name, school, district, which courses you are interested in taking and that you are an educator at a GEAR UP partner school.
- Courses are accessed on the Canvas platform.
- Courses are completely updated and redesigned to meet the needs of Arizona college access practitioners – course content is relevant, timely, and focused on immediate implementation with Arizona students and families, middle school through high school.
- Courses only require a maximum of 15 seat hours to complete.
- All courses are offered for graduate credit through Lindenwood University for educators who are eligible for salary advancement and/or for school counselors who need to resolve their 6-credit hour deficiency for certificate renewal under option B or option C through the Arizona Department of Education.
The 2024-2025 CAP Training Course Schedule is now available and all Fall courses are open for registration.
- AZGU partners will have access to funds to take one or more CAP Training Courses through AzCAN until funds are expended.
- To register for CAP Training courses, please email Jennifer Murphy (jmurphy@educationforwardarizona.org) indicating which course(s) you are interested in taking. Please be sure to cc Daniel Fa’Asasa Pulu (daniel.pulu@nau.edu) or Jasmine Dean (jasmine.dean@nau.edu) on this email.
- You will not register using the traditional registration link that you might receive in emails or the AzCAN Newsletter.
